MULTIPROFILE HOSPITAL FOR ACTIVE TREATMENT – LEVSKI Ltd. is a beneficiary under contract No. BGLD-1.007-0021 “Creating employment at MBAL LEVSKI EOOD through the introduction of innovative physiotherapy services”, with partner INSTITUTE FOR CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL TRAINING AND INNOVATION EOOD, under the Small grant scheme procedure “Creation of jobs”, Program “Local development, poverty reduction and improved inclusion of vulnerable groups”, financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021. The project is implemented in the period from 28.02.2023 to 30.04.2024.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
Creation of employment for unemployed persons from risk groups residing in the municipality of Levski – target area of the grant scheme “Creation of jobs” of the Program “Local development, poverty reduction and improved inclusion of vulnerable groups” of the FM of the EEA 2014 – 2021 – by increasing the economic activity of the Candidate.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT
Specific objective 1: Increasing the economic activity of MBAL Levski EOOD, by revealing innovative medical practices in the field of physiotherapy.
Specific objective 2: Creating conditions for sustainable employment in the innovative medical practices revealed by the project, through training of unemployed people from risk groups in the municipality of Levski.
The specific objectives of the project are addressed, on the one hand, to the development of innovative medical services in the field of physiotherapy, which will create a prerequisite for the launch and development of health/medical tourism in the municipality of Levski, as well as for the creation of employment in this area. On the other hand, they are aimed at increasing local entrepreneurial activity through the creation, development and management of a new type of health services, attractive to groups of patients from neighboring and other regions of the country with certain types of diseases that need state-of-the-art rehabilitation and physiotherapy type.
TARGET GROUPS
Long-term and pre-retirement unemployed, young people, young mothers, single parents, people with disabilities, low-skilled persons, including representatives of Roma and Turkish minorities, registered in DBT-Levski (Directorate Labour Bureau – Levski).
PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Activity 1. Project management, information and publicity
Effective management of project activities, in accordance with the set goals, expected results in planned terms. Dissemination of project results to ensure their sustainability and upgrade.
During implementation, the general public will be informed about the contribution of the “Local Development, Poverty Reduction and Improved Inclusion of Vulnerable Groups” Program of the EEA FM 2014-2021 to improving the socio-economic environment in the target region of the project.
The experience of the implementation of the project, financed by the donor program, to improve the socio-economic environment in the municipality of Levski will be popularized among interested communities (regional and municipal leaders from the target region of the program, local authorities implementing policies for regional development, health care and employment , NGO).
The created project product – the Center for Innovative Recreational Services at the “Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine” Department at MBAL Levski EOOD – will be promoted among interested parties (patients and patient organizations; professional communities working in the field of physiotherapy and in the field of health tourism) – potential users of the innovative physiotherapy services created under the project.
Activity 2. Creation of jobs in MBAL-Levski EOOD
As part of the activity, 12-month employment will be provided to 4 unemployed persons from risk groups on the local labor market in the city of Levski – beneficiaries of the “Job Creation” grant scheme. The persons will be appointed to work at MBAL-Levski EOOD in the position of “Hospital Caretaker”. During work, the employed persons will be trained in the profession “Nurse”, specialty “Health care”. To facilitate the labor integration of the employed persons, they will be provided with mentoring by MBAL-Levski EOOD for a period of 3 months.
Activity 3. Investment in innovative approaches for the development of local employment
As part of the activity, a Center for Innovative Recreational Services will be established at the “Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine” Department of MBAL-Levski EOOD. Construction and repair works will be carried out. Two types of innovative physiotherapy services will be launched at the Center: Rehabilitation with virtual reality (with the therapeutic system Nirvana) and Salt therapy (Halotherapy). The project product has a strategic potential to attract users of this type of service from other regions of the country. The development of innovative physiotherapy services at MBAL-Levski EOOD creates conditions for the launch of alternative (health) tourism, as well as for the socio-economic development of the municipality. It will reveal 3 jobs in the profession of health assistant. The persons will be appointed to work in the created Center in the position of “Health Assistant” for a period of 12 months. During work, the employed persons will be trained in the profession of “Health Assistant”, specialty “Health Care”. To facilitate the labor integration of the employed persons, they will be provided with mentoring by MBAL-Levski EOOD for a period of 3 months.
Activity 4. Training of unemployed
The purpose of the activity is to form skills in digital competence and professional qualification in the professions of “Health Assistant” and “Nurse Attendant” of 7 beneficiaries of the project, necessary for their employment at MBAL-Levski EOOD.
The activity will proceed through several stages:
1. Informing potential beneficiaries about the objectives of the project and the personal benefits of their inclusion in the project. Obtaining digital competence and professional qualification and inclusion in employment, which – chances for sustainable employment in the promising sector of health services.
2. Inclusion of 20 unemployed persons in the Motivational Training in order to adapt to the requirements of the labor market – mastering skills for preparing job application documents; for presentation to an employer; to use sources of information about vacancies; to increase job search activity.
3. Inclusion of the selected 7 unemployed persons in training on Key Competence 4 “Digital Competence”, with the aim of forming skills necessary for their inclusion in employment under the project.
4. Inclusion of 7 unemployed persons from the target group of the project with completed secondary education in training for the acquisition of a professional qualification related to the employment provided by the project, as follows:
4 persons will be trained during work in the profession “Nurse”, specialty “Health care”;
3 persons will be trained on the job in the profession “Health Assistant”, specialty “Health Care”.
